🏛️ Ben Carroll
Ben Carroll entered the Victorian parliament as member for Niddrie after the March 2012 by-election. His later ministerial responsibilities included public transport, manufacturing and education, following earlier work in justice-related parliamentary roles. His subsequent career took him to the premiership of Victoria. His parliamentary profile identifies access to education, transport and the local economy among his community priorities. His work joined constituency concerns with responsibilities extending across the state.
⚖️ Rob Hulls
Rob Hulls represented Niddrie in the Victorian parliament from 1996 to 2012. He served as attorney-general and deputy premier, with a public career strongly associated with law and justice reform. After leaving parliament, he became the inaugural director of RMIT University’s Centre for Innovative Justice. His path also included earlier legal and parliamentary work in Queensland, so Niddrie was one substantial chapter rather than his entire public life. Recognition in the Order of Australia in 2021 acknowledged service to Victoria’s people, parliament and legal system.
